Join an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Medalta’s internationally renowned Artist in Residence. Get crafty with a holiday ornament making workshop with Cosmic Clay Studio, and then enjoy a delicious lunch at d’Carlo Pasta House.
Medalta will invite a pottery artist to display their pieces and talk about their journey and inspiration behind what they’ve created while living on the National Historic Site.
There will be an invitation to ask questions and chat with the artist once they’ve presented their pieces, tour the studio to see the behind the scenes, and learn how Medalta is growing the artist community on an international level right here in Medicine Hat.
After feeling inspired to create your own art, Cosmic Clay Studio will guide the group in making a holiday ornament using clay.
Owner Aurelia has been a pottery artist for over a handful of years. She will have tools, stencils, clay (cookie) cutters, and more for this beginner-friendly art activity.
Make your very own ornament to take home once it’s been glazed and fired to hang in your home for the cozy season.
Once everyone has channeled their inner artist, the group will have lunch inside the warm d’Carlo Pasta House.

- Wedge Caesar Salad with your choice of italian soda, dirty soda, d’Carlo beer, or small glass of wine. Vegetarian option available.
- Lunch-Style Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo or Spaghetti Pomodoro with Meatballs (this meal does not include a drink)
Tour meets at the Visitor Information Centre, 330 Gehring Road SW.
Ornaments will need to be glazed and fired and can be picked up at the Visitor Information Centre a few days after the event.
